What do Mt Vesuvius and the Great Ocean Road have in common? A need for the occasional funicular railway to reach soaring heights and extraordinary views.

An odd thing to raise I know, but as soon as I noticed that 725 Great Ocean Road had a new funicular (inclinator) railway, that joyful Neapolitan song just came into my head – you know the one, Funiculi, Funicula!”.
